Special Review of the Month*: the NAKED BASICS palette

Hi guys!
So, it's true! We're finally in 2015! We hope you had a wonderful time with all your friends and family. We are so sorry, again, for being away from the blog for more than a month... I know it is not an excuse but the exams and the holidays killed us! But now we are back and we are here to stay! 2015 will be an even better year, we hope!

So, today I thought that it would be nice if I picked one of my recent palettes that I've received and make a review. So that is what I did!

Here I bring you, the NAKED BASICS palette.

I know it's not a new thing on the shelfs but here in Portugal they take a little more time to get it on the display to buy...
So, first, let's talk about the box, the exterior package.
It is a sleek box, in a taupe color which is very chic, in my opinion. The size of the palette is perfect for travel or just to have a quick and simple makeup on the run, in the elevator, in the car... In the back of the box, there's a description of the eyeshadow colors that are inside of the palette, and the list of the ingredients, of course!

The palette has six colors: one shimmer and five totally matte.
The shimmer color is a champagne color and the name is VENUS. I think that is a well known eyeshadow from urban decay, and you can find it in another palettes too. The matte colors are a yellow-toned beige, a pink-toned color, a nude base for the lid, a matte brown and a dark black. The first matte yellow-toned color is FOXY; the pink-toned one is WALK OF SHAME (or W.O.S); the nude is NAKED 2; the brown color is FAINT and finally the black is CRAVE.
These are the perfect colors if you want to create an easy, simple and chic nude eye makeup. They are so easy to aply and the pigmentation is awesome! It is so creamy too!

The size of this palette is also interesting. It is not too small or too big: it's perfect! For me, I'm always travelling and on the run, it's my favourite palette to get on THE GO! It is always in my purse because I can transform my day makeup to a night makeup in the bathroom, with this palette, in 5 minutes! How cool is that?!

Here in Portugal, the palette retails for 27 euros, but when I bought it at Sephora, I used a discount that I had from my birthday and it costed 23 euros. Not bad!
If you are interested in this palette go to Sephora!

So, that is all for today!
We missed you guys so much in this past month of December. We apologize again for our "disappearance".

Special Review of the Month!

Hi guys!
Today we have a special treat for you! To indulge our chocolate lovers we are here to present you: the CHOCOLATE BAR by TOO FACED!
Yes, we know that is a well known palette of all the makeup gurus and lovers, but this is our version of the Chocolate Bar, our opinion and our review. So, let's get this show on the road! 😉

First things first: the packaging!
As you can see, it's a rectangular box in pink, gold and brown colors. Very sweet and girly. It comes with a how-to guide which gives you directions on how to do three simple eye looks: a day look - 'Milk Chocolate'; a fashion look - 'Semi-sweet'; and a night look - 'Haute Cocoa'. Let us know if you want us to do a tutorial of any of these looks!
The palette is like an authentic chocolate bar! And it smells so good!

The palette is composed by 16 beautiful and sweet colors!
(from left to right)

The first five colors are three matt colors and two shimmery colors:
1*the first is a brown color with some hints of gold, cause it is a shimmer one. It's a medium dark color, and it's name is 'Gilded Ganache'.
2*the second color is a matte color: a vanilla white, excelent choice for a highlighter. A light color but without the shine. The name is 'White Chocolate'.
3*the third color is a matte brown, a very light tone. It's a nice color to contour the crease or the nose. The name is 'Milk Chocolate'.
4*the fourth color is a very glitery dark burgundy color. It's a hard color to play with because it has so much glitter and it is so dark. The name of this bad boy is 'Black Forest Truffle'.
5*and now, the last color of the first line is a very dark and sultry matte brown. It is so dark that is almost black! You can wear it as an eyeliner color or in a smoky eye look. The name is 'Triple Fudge'.

Next, the second line of colors! The next six colors: three shimmery colors and three matte colors.
1*the first is ANOTHER brown color but with an orange undertone. It is almost a skin tone and it can be a good color to contour too. The name is 'Salted Caramel'.
2*the second color is a shimmer version of 'Salted Caramel'. It is a nude color, with an orange undertone too. It is so pretty when the light hits it. The name is 'Marzipan'.
3*the third color is another matte brown in a medium dark color, darker than 'Milk Chocolate' which is in the same line of browns. The name is 'Semi-sweet'.
4*the fourth color in this line of the palette is a refreshing pink! Yes, a pink in the middle of the browns and the taupes! It is a very sweet, light and matte baby pink. It is called 'Strawberry Bon Bon'.
5*the fifth color is a purple, another different pop of color. It has glitter on it, a very beautiful color to wear in a night out look! The name is 'Candied Violet'.
6*last but not least, a shimmery burgundy color, but without glitter! It has more of a metallic finish. It is a light burgundy color and it is one of my favourites in the palette. It is called 'Amaretto'.

Finally, the last line of the palette! It is composed by five colors: 4 shimmery or metallic ones and one matte color.
1*the first one is a metallic brown, in medium light tone. We think that it is the most similar to real chocolate tone. It is called 'Hazelnut'.
2* the second color is a metallic gold color, another pop of color in the middle of all the browns! It is a beautiful and classy color. It is my favourite of ALL the palette. The name is 'Crème Brulee'.
3* the third color is also a brown with a metallic finish, but it has a darker undertone. It is very similar to 'Hazelnut' but not as orange in the undertone. The name is 'Haute Chocolate'.
4*the fourth color is another pop of color: a burgundy but with more of a pink undertone, not as brown as the other burgundys in the palette. It is a matte color, also diferente from the other similar colors. It is called 'Cherry Cordial'.
5*to end our party of colors we have another highlighter color, but it's shimmery. It is more shimmery than 'White Chocolate' and has a pink undertone. It is almost a nude peach color. The name is 'Champagne Truffle'.
So, with this we finish our color show! Wee are going to put some swatches of all the colors down below.

Now, our OPINION: it is a gorgeous palette and if you want a palette that you can wear everyday but also in some special ocasions, like a party, it is the perfect palette for you. The combination of browns, taupes, pinks and some pops of color, make this a palette amazing for creating nude, simple and wearable eye makeup. Just a tip: to bring the colors to their maximum potential, you should always wear an eyeshadow PRIMER. It will make a difference because your eye makeup will last a lot longer!
Conclusion: if you don't have it, you should try it out! It is so easy to use and it is not a palette that you won't wear. It is perfect for those who wear less eye makeup or are starting to play with eyeshadow.

So, this is all for today! We hope you enjoyed it and tell us what you think and what is your favourite color in the palette. Check our Instagram for more news, contact us on Twitter and Facebook, and leave us a comment down below! Also don't forget to check the our blog for more surprises!

Autumn | Cute Hairstyles

Hi guys!

This little tutorial is going to be all about hair! Thick or thin, long or short our hair is one of our most important accessories. Sometimes we just don't know what to do with it and it can be very frustrating as well as annoying!
Now keep in mind that everyones hair is different and because of that some hairstyles might not look so great on some of us. All we need to do is play around with our hair to see what looks best on us. Not everyone is blessed by nature with beautiful, luscious hair! So, basically we are bringing you three very simple hairstyles that we feel are very pretty, easy and feminine and that can be worn in a variety of situations!

Fist we have a very nice way to pull your hair up in literally two minutes: a basic bun.
So, you are going to take your hair up in a high ponytail like this:

Then you are going to twist it and pin it up with bobby pins, like this:

And if you want to jazz it up a little, just take your ponytail and braid it, then pin it up with bobby pins!

Now, a pretty basic one. You are going to take your hair and put it up in a half ponytail, that alone looks very nice but, if you want to make it extra pretty, add a hairclip.

The last one is a bit more tricky but anyone can do it! You are going to take your hair and take one piece of hair on each side of your head above your ears and braid them, you can even pin the rest of your hair back so it doesn't get in the way, like this:

Glamorous, right? Don't worry it will be just fine! Now you are going to cross both braids across your head:

Then, you are going to secure each braid to the sides of your head and it will look something like this:

And there you go! Three easy and quick ways to style your hair that look pretty and put together!

We hope you liked this tutorial and we would love for you guys to show us some pictures on our social media of your take on them if you try them out!

See you soon,

Makeup Essentials!: Makeup Bag *

Hi guys!

So, today I thought that I could show you the items you need to have your own perfect makeup bag! These items are the "Makeup Essentials" and some of them are high-end, and others are drugstore products.

I'm going to talk about each item, one by one, telling you the colors I use, the brand and, in some cases, the price.
Hope you like it, so let's go!

So, first I have to tell you about the importance of the FACE PRIMER.
Every makeup lover has to have their FACE PRIMER ready for anytime. This product will prevent the oils from your face to get out and it will make your makeup last longer, specially in that special moment or date at night!

Mine is the POREFESSIONAL by BENEFIT. It's a very well-known brand and his actual cost is around 32 euros, here in Portugal. You can find it at any Sephora Portugal.

Another primer product, but is an EYE PRIMER.
If you are an eyeshadow lover, you should have a good EYE PRIMER to help your shadows to last all night long and without creasing.

The product of my choice is the I LOVE STAGE eyeshadow primer, from ESSENCE.
It costs around 3 or 4 euros and you can find it at drugstores or makeup stores.

To end our "primer" category, we have another must-have: LIP PRIMER or a LIP BALM.
As your face and eyes, your lips also need some love: take care of them so they can be always smooth and ready to all your fabulous lip colors! Show lips worth kissing!

My choice is the BABY LIPS by MAYBELLINE, in the color PINK PUNCH. It's also a drugstore product that you can find in any supermarket or department store. It costs around 2,99 euros.

Next in my makeup bag is my all-time favourite: my CONCEALER.
Concealers exist in many shapes and forms: cream, liquid, powder, etc. But, for fall and winter, when my skin is very dry, I love to put some cream concealer because it's so confortable to wear, and does not dry my eye area. I use CONCEALER and not FOUNDATION because I think that LESS is MORE. Spot treat your face and don't wear makeup that you don't need!

My choice is the FULL COVERAGE CONCEALER by KIKO MILANO COSMETICS. You can find it at any KIKO COSMETICS store or in their website: kikocosmetics.com. It costs 7,50 euros, here in Portugal.

Now, the POWDERS!
Here, I have three must-have products: a setting TRANSLUCENT POWDER, a BRONZER and a BLUSH.
First, the TRANSLUCENT POWDER.
This is a makeup tool that prevents the oils in your face to show, and also removes all the shine. You can wear it over the CONCEALER to remove shine or in your bare skin to remove the shine from the T-zone or the nose area. Remember: LESS is MORE. Apply it on the areas that you need, not in your entire face: it will look very caky...

My choice is the ALL ABOUT MATT translucent powder, pressed powder, by ESSENCE. It's a white powder but it becomes translucent after the application. It costs around 3,99 euros, here in Portugal.

Next, the BRONZER.
This makeup item it's not for everyone because the BRONZER is a very difficult thing to wear. You have to try and experiment to find your type of BRONZER and the areas of your face that need the bronze effect. You can aplly it under your cheekbones, close to your ear area and in your tempoles.

My choice is SOUS DE TEINT by LIERAC. I don't know the price of this product but you can find it at the perfume stores and probably at Sephora.

Finnaly, we have the BLUSH.
Honestly, I don't wear BLUSH very often. It's a well-known product but it's not one of my personal favourites. You can wear it on your cheekbones to give some color and life to your face and, if you are really in the mood, you can layer two different BLUSH colors to achieve a more three dimmensional look.

My choice is the ROSE BLUSH by YRIA. This product is sold through Yves Rocher but I don't know it's current price, here in Portugal.

Now, an all-time favourite: the EYELINER.
This makeup product could be one of the most weared product in the world, used to create beautiful lines in your eyes, helping your to transform them into CAT EYES. But sometimes, it could be a perfect NIGHTMARE...
As the CONCEALER, the EYELINER exists in many shapes and forms: cream, liquid, in a pen, in a brush, as a gel, etc. My favourite of all is the EYELINER PEN. The pen can give you the precision that you need, specially when you don't have a lot of practice doing it. You can make thick and thin lines and in quick speed!

My choice is the SUPERFINE EYELINER PEN by ESSENCE in Black. It costs around 2,99 euros at drugstores and department stores.

Let's keep showing our eyes some love with the MASCARA.
The MASCARA is also one of my favourite products because everyone loves BIG, THICK and SULTRY LASHES! As the BRONZER and the CONCEALER, the MASCARA needs your time before you buy it: you should discover what type of formula and what type of brush is better to your lashes and to the effect that you wanna to achieve. Since my lashes are small and thin, I need a MASCARA that brings me lenght and also thickness to my tiny lashes.

So, my choice is the VOLUME ATRACTION MASCARA by KIKO MILANO COSMETICS, in the color Black. I bought this MASCARA for 3,99 at the sales. You can find it at KIKO COSMETICS stores all over the country and in their website: kikocosmetics.com

But first, make them nice and perky with the help of a good LASH CURLER! It will give your lashes a boost before you coat them with your favourite MASCARA!

Now, to finish up our PERFECT MAKEUP BAG, my ultimate passion: the LIPPIES!
Lipstick is my favourite makeup tool of all-times because I can be very creative with them and transform myself in a total different person. I'm a MATTE LIPSTICK lover but there are so many finishes of lipstick to chose from...

My choices are two different colors: at the left, a gorgeous NUDE color from KIKO MILANO COSMETICS (number 900). It costs around 3,90 euros; and at my right, a beautiful, everyday pink tone, the STELAR PINK, from MAYBELLINE. This one is a little more expensive and it costs around 8,99 euros in some departement stores.

And now we are finished!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and maybe be in love with some products that you didn't konw about! Next week, we will be preparing a review in a FALL PRODUCT! Stay tuned for more news!

Fall: The Perfect Winged Liner

Hi guys!

Today's post will be about achieving the perfect winged liner, which is a very classic look and very apropriate for Fall. Now, we understand that winged liner may cause some frustration and even a little bit "fear", but after some practise, you will see that it is really, really easy to achieve!

So, the first thing you have to do is make sure your eye is clean and there is no make-up residue left, so wash your face very well before you do this and apply your everyday moisturizer.

Now, take your liquid liner and make a line on the upper lashline as close to your lashes as you can, you should make it thin and make it thicker as you go but if you want to you can make it thicker. It should look like this:

Then you draw a straight line, there is where you want your little "flick" to be.

Then you make draw line, making a triangle.

Then you just have to fill the triangle in!

And then you'll have the perfect winged liner!! Just remember to practise and you will be able to do this easily and quickly!

We hope this post was somehow useful!
